Future/Canvas iPad Art Show in San Francisco
So I took the time to make a San Fransisco trip last weekend . . . and it proved to be well worth my while as an author with an enhanced media iPad app. Yes, there were people from all over. Most of all, there were artists from across the digital art spectrum; folks that actually make art on those touch screen tablets . . . the iPad.
Future/Canvas was very, very cool.

Social Media
Social Media.
Whoa. There it is again! Like Jesus invented it or something . . . but seriously, that's what it seems like these days. Whenever I go to events, people talk about this loose alliance of mostly free websites that link each other as if they actually changed the world. Even Qifa Nabki has alluded to it. (Or maybe not?) Click here for his post.
Bottom line: If I may be so subjective, social media is only as effective as the people using it. It has not been this so-called linchpin that caused unrest across the Middle East, but it certainly has helped get the word out, via #hashtags and other tools.
Here's a secret: Nobody liked Ben Ali of Tunisia anyway, and when that despot fell, Egyptians (and everyone else) started to belive that their populous revolts could actually bring change.
Social media is that a ripple in the sea. It didn't invent it.
UPDATE: Interesting blog post on "free ebook theory".

Free iPad codes for Surfing the Middle East
Today . . . yes, today. Today I am going to the Future/Canvas iPad art show in San Francisco. There will be a lot of apps & art featured; one of which will be the Magic Window app, which might be the best use for a spare buck I've seen in awhile.
I'm also going to be showing off some of the in-app art for Surfing the Middle East at the event--and in anticipation for going, my publisher, Zentro Media, has given me a bunch of free codes for downloading the app. If you want one, send me an email. I'd also appreciate it if you would review the app in the Apple Store in exchange.
As of now, thirty are left . . . get 'em while I have 'em!
