Unemployment Rate(s)

As nearly all who are unemployed in California will say, "The unemployment rate in our state is the nation's third-highest, at 12.4% this September."

And, as nearly all who are unemployed in Iran will tell you, "The unemployment rate in Iran has gone from 11% a year ago to about 15% now."

Then the Iranian will tell you that he (or she) knows another Iranian who lives in California who ... (PANIC!) I just realized this sounds like a scripted joke that I have no idea how I'll end ... Jesus! My only goddamn point was that for as much shit as American analysts give to the Iranian economy, the California job market isn't a whole lot better - by the numbers. Perhaps if the Islamic Republic of Iran allowed for the sale & production medical marijuana, they'd probably drop their unemployment rate by a good 5% - as we have in California.

Update: While the Readership chews on this strange post, I'll tag another thing to read: The Situation of natural gas along the Eastern Med. Of course everyone has already threatened to use military force so it made the news.

Learning Biz from Zuckerberg

Many of you know that I am writing a book called Surfing the Middle East and am publishing it on the iPad as a "Zbook". To be frank, this is a revolutionary topic on a revolutionary platform. It will be cool & it will be out December 1st.

But ... Sweet Jesus! Will it work? My answer? Hell, I have no idea. So what do I do when I'm not working on finalizing the Text, production, or tying up an eternal amount of loose ends that comes with such a project? Well, watching Mark Zuckerberg, of course - normally when I'm making my bed for some reason.

(I'll continue to share things as our launch date approaches.)
