I'm glad that Roger Cohen traded his cushy New York office for the smoggy streets of Tehran. In his most recent column, he talks about the "other Iran." He describes it as a place were capitalism and modernity prove far more appetizing than medieval Islamic government. I'll let you read it yourself, but keep in mind that the best indication of change is when really hotshot journalist start unleashing a flurry of articles about it.

Great article. I know plenty of Iranians in Tehran, the sentiment seems accurate. I wonder though how much of this type of curiosity with America is consistent across the country. What about the Kurdistan, or Ashfar and other Southern tribal areas?
Totally different, I think. Tehran is its own beast.
Cohen's thoughts are even spilling over into the Holy Land, where Ha'aretz's Gideon Levy asks Israel, too, to "think again about (bombing) Iran."
